VIRGINIA NUMISMATIC ASSOCIATION 52nd ANNUAL CONVENTION, COIN AND CURRENCY SHOW
Richmond, VA --The Virginia Numismatic Association will hold its 52nd annual convention, coin and currency show, Friday-Sunday, September 17-19, 10:00 AM to 6:00PM (to 4:00 PM on Sunday) at the Greater Richmond Convention Center. This is the largest coin show in Virginia. More than 65 dealers from 13 states will offer U.S. and foreign coins and currency, ancients, precious metals, Civil War currency, tokens, and other numismatic items and supplies. Coin collectors will be able to buy, sell, trade and get free appraisals and authentication. SEGS will offer grading services, and Bowers and Merena will accept consignments for their November 4-7 Baltimore show auction.
Activities include educational presentations and exhibits of historical coins and currency. Cilfford Mishler, President of the American Numismatic Association, will speak at the annual banquet Friday evening ($35 advance registration). There will be a National Park Service display as part of the America the Beautiful Quarters Program. A Boy Scout coin collecting badge certification workshop is offered on Saturday at 1:00, and there will be free coins and activities for young coin collectors. Admission is free to the convention events and coin show. Early bird admission $35.
